CHICAGO the MUSICAL

TICKETS ON SALE NOW...
FOR WHIDBEY PLAYHOUSE PRODUCTION OF TONY AND ACADEMY AWARD WINNING MUSICAL "CHICAGO" Directed by  K.Sandra O’Brien, Produced by Ken Grigsby.

Tickets are now on sale for the Whidbey Playhouse production of the Whidbey Island premier of the Tony and Academy Award winning musical "Chicago". The hit of the 1997 Broadway season, "Chicago" won six Tony Awards and later the Academy Award as Best Picture of the Year.
In roaring twenties Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband Amos to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie.  Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess" Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune and acquittal. This sharp edged satire features a dazzling score that sparked immortal staging by Bob Fosse.
Starting the 44th season for the Whidbey Playhouse, "Chicago" opens on September 10, 2010 at the Whidbey Playhouse, 730 S.E. Midway Blvd in Oak Harbor, and closes October 3, 2010.  Tickets are $16 each, but groups of ten or more receive a $1 discount for each ticket.  Show times are 7:30 PM for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening performances, and 2:30 PM for Sunday matinees.  Call the box office at 360-679-2237 for further information, show dates, group discounts, and reservations, or email at office@whidbeyplayhouse.com or check the website at www.whidbeyplayhouse.com.
"Chicago" is rated Guidance Recommended.  There is a gun shot and a strobe light during the show. The Whidbey Playhouse is wheelchair and handicapped accessible.
