Auditions for the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical “Cinderella” will be held, Saturday March 27 at 1 pm, and Sunday, March 28, at 7 pm. at the Whidbey Playhouse, 730 S.E. Midway Blvd in Oak Harbor.  Principal parts are available for six women and two men, and featured parts for three men.  There is a large singing-dancing ensemble.  Requirements for auditions include one prepared song, cold readings from the script, and basic dance movement.

            “Cinderella” is the timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale. The story concerns a young woman forced into a life of servitude by her cruel stepmother and self-centered stepsisters, who dreams of a better life.  With the help of her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella is transformed in to a Princess and finds her Prince.

Grace – her awkward stepsister - ages 16+

 

Joy – her sullen stepsister - ages 16+

Lionel – his royal steward – wise and cunning confidant ages 21+

 

Queen Constantina – his mother – Queen Constantina is anxious for an heir to the throne and also her son’s happiness - ages 30+ 

 

King Maximillian – his father – King Maximillian is eager to please his wife and appease his son - ages 30+ 

 

Charles – a cat who will become a Coachman – male or female – ages 10+

 

4 White Mice – who will become Horses – male or female – ages 10+
