WPH Show History

Willy Wonka Jr. Information
  Auditions will be held at the Whidbey Playhouse for the upcoming summer youth production of Willy Wonka, Jr.  May 31st  from Noon to 4 pm.  Come try out for the show.  Many cast are needed to make a great production.  No previous experience needed.  Just come and have fun!  


Auditions will be held for the Broadway Junior adaptation of Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir in this stage adaptation of “Charlie and The Chocolate Factory”, Saturday, May 31, 12-4 pm at the Playhouse, for children ages 7-17.  Call-backs will be held Monday, June 2, 7-9 pm.  Auditioners are to have a prepared song, and be dressed for dance movement.  Do not wear sandals, flip flops, or other open-toed shoes.
 Featuring the songs from the classic family film “Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory”, all of your favorite characters and songs (including “The Candy Man” and Pure Imagination”) are in this show that overflows with music, comedy and heart. 

The summer youth production, directed by Mary K. Hallen, will be performed at the Whidbey Playhouse July 31-August 10, 2008, for a total of eight performances.  There will be a participation fee, which will also cover two workshops.  Some scholarships will be available.
