Nominations for 2020-2021

Whidbey Playhouse Board of Directors

Dear Playhouse family, friends and supporters;

With the holiday season upon us and in order to make sure those who are interested have an opportunity to apply, the Whidbey Playhouse Board of Directors is extending the application period for the Board Member at Large application to December 31, 2020. Submit completed applications to  Applications will be reviewed in January, which is the next board meeting.

As a reminder the Board met on October 28th, via Zoom, to discuss options for filling the Board Member at Large vacancy. According to our Bylaws, Article V. The Board Section 8 Vacancies:

A vacant seat on the Board having less than one year remaining may be filled by appointment by the Board for the unexpired term, regardless of even or odd year.  A vacant seat on the Board having more than one year remaining shall be filled, regardless of even or odd year, by means of election at a Special Meeting of the members called for that purpose.  A nominee shall be announced to the membership by the Board fourteen (14) days prior to the meeting, and presented for a vote at the meeting, with additional nominations from the floor permitted.

The Board Member at Large position has less than one year left in the term; therefore the current Board will appoint an individual to fill the vacancy. We would like your help in doing this. If you are interested in the position please complete the Board Member At Large application and email it to the Whidbey Playhouse at  no later than December 31, 2020. You may also know of a community member that would be a great board member. Please provide them with the application to complete.  Information regarding the duties of the position can be found on the application. Once applications have been received the WPH Board will set up Zoom interviews with the applicants and we hope to make the appointment in January 2021.

Thank you all for your continued support of the Whidbey Playhouse – we are moving forward together!

Stephanie Smith

President, WPH Board of Directors
