Poseidon Players offers a supportive environment for local playwrights, directors, and actors to develop their skills. Short (<30 minute), one act, plays or skits are selected, rehearsed, and performed at the end of each session. These performances are open to the public. No experience is needed and everybody gets a part.
The plays/skits are performed using no costuming and few props (Black Box style). Typically, the actors simply wear black.
Rehearsals are generally 4-6 times per session depending on the script, actors, and director. One “dress rehearsal” before the public performances offers a small group of directors/actors the opportunity to evaluate the plays/skits and provide candid criticism of your performance to help you grow as an actor.
Sessions run 2-3 times per year, and this program has no cost. If you wish to offer an original script for consideration, please deliver the script to the Whidbey Playhouse office.
